We are a family from El Palmar, with generations dedicated to boating, fishing and rice cultivation in the Albufera of Valencia.

José Antonio, since his childhood, has maintained a deep bond with the Albufera and its traditions, coming from a family of fishermen that has instilled in him a great passion for this emblematic natural site. From a young age, he began to accompany his father in fishing, an experience that allowed him to get to know the lake in depth and explore each of its nooks and crannies.
At the end of his degree in Topography, José Antonio started looking for his place in the working world. After offering his services in the private sector, he was presented with a unique opportunity: to be part of a public program promoted by the Valencia City Council, aimed at carrying out conservation and management tasks in the Albufera.
With the accumulated experience and taking advantage of the growing tourism boom, he decided to turn his life around and, at the age of 28, to start his own business project: a boat tour company in the Albufera.
He chose to call it Paseos en Barca “El Bessó”, in honor of the nickname by which his father is known in the picturesque village of El Palmar.
From that moment on, José Antonio, together with his sister, has dedicated himself with determination and dedication to turn his company into a welcoming refuge for all those who wish to discover the incomparable beauty of the Albufera of Valencia.

Elena was born and raised in El Palmar, a place that has always been deeply rooted in her identity. Her love for her town, its people and its natural environment is indescribable.
From an early age, his family passed on to him a deep affection for the Albufera, and he witnessed the commitment of his father, who has dedicated his life to the protection of this ecosystem and the fishing activity that gives it life.
Elena feels a strong connection to reading, yoga and quiet walks in nature. She considers herself privileged to live surrounded by an environment that breathes wisdom, tradition and beauty.
After finishing high school, Elena moved to the University of Valencia, where she studied a degree in Business Administration. During her first years in the workplace, she worked in the administration of private companies, which allowed her to acquire valuable skills in business management.
In the midst of the pandemic, she decided to embark on a new educational stage by enrolling in the Master’s Degree in Secondary Teacher Training. Her passion for teaching, coupled with her conviction that it is never too late to learn, allowed her to delve deeper into an area that had always interested her.
Simultaneously, he had the opportunity to collaborate with his brother in the family business Paseos en Barca El Bessó, assuming commercial responsibilities, customer acquisition and administrative tasks.
Since then, Elena has been fully committed to the development and expansion of the company, helping Paseos en Barca El Bessó reach an increasingly wider audience, transmitting her love for the Albufera and sharing with her clients the essence of this unique ecosystem that they have always cared for and respected, even before they were aware of the importance of its preservation.
We have a deep knowledge of the lake and we transmit our knowledge and love for nature to our clients.
