Get to know the boat ride
in the Albufera of Valencia
Leaving from the El Palmar pier, we will navigate through the canals and enter the Albufera, up to the bushes in the center of the lake.
During the walk, you will be able to observe the heron colonies and discover where they nest and hibernate, without disturbing them. We will pass by the typical Valencian huts and the fishing grounds of the area. Depending on the time of year, you can make a fishing demonstration according to the season, watching how the fishermen work. You will also be able to see the “llisas”, which are the typical fish of the lake and can even enter the boat without any danger.
During the crossing we will pass through the “Mata del Fang” reserve , the only protected reserve that exists in Albufera. We will enjoy a quiet ride while the skipper of the boat will be explaining throughout the tour the peculiarities of the flora and fauna of the lake.

The Albufera Natural Park is known for its extraordinary avian richness, with outstanding species such as the mallard duck (coll-verd) with up to 10,000 specimens, the common scoter, the red-crested pochard and different species of grebes (cabuçó). It is also home to important colonies of herons, including the grey heron, little egret, xatrac, ibis and purple heron. Its ecological value is very great, with fish species of great value such as the samaruc, eel, mullet and the llobarro (sea bass). We will fully enjoy the wonders of the natural park during this quiet boat ride on the Albufera of Valencia while the skipper of the boat will explain the peculiarities of the flora and fauna of the lake.
